Berg Produkt Transport Trolleys for Greenhouse Crops Harvesting That’s Simple, Efficient & Economical
Harvest Transport trolleys are suitable for almost all crops and run on heating pipes, doubling the benefits of the greenhouse’s heating system.
By using transport trolleys, growers save time and improve quality by decreasing handling operations and improving working conditions by reducing strenuous activities.
Trolleys are available in steel for heavy loads or aluminum for light jobs. The steel carts are suitable for full automation, and are available in a variety of lengths and designs.
The centre wheels on the steel carts are adjustable. The high quality swivel castors can tolerate heavy loads, and the patented synthetic flanged wheels are manufactured from a specific nylon composition, which promotes an extended life span and low rolling resistance when fully loaded.
The trolleys are normally fitted with a marine-ply board (not included) so that boxes can be stacked on them.
Models with pneumatic tyres are also available.
Which Trolley Should You Use for Your Greenhouse Crops?
The low trolleys (pictured Top and Middle) are normally used to harvest greenhouse crops such as loose fruit into boxes, and can also be fitted with large hoppers for capsicum, cucumbers etc.
The trolleys with rollers are normally used for picking and packing truss tomatoes. The top shelf is for empty boxes, the shelf with the rollers is for finished stacked boxes, and the bottom shelf is used for a number of boxes of loose fruit or storage.
The trolleys (pictured Middle and Bottom) feature draw-bars and are suitable for towing in long chains behind a motorised tractor.
Can my Harvest System be Automated?
Yes. We can supply a system where the empty Harvest trolleys are automatically brought to the centre path in the greenhouse. They are then filled by the pickers and brought back to the path. From there they make their way back to the packing shed, pass over a weighbridge, then unload onto a conveyor, then make their way back out to the greenhouse path, waiting for a picker.
This system is easy, efficient and safe.
How Many Harvest Trolleys do I Need?
Normally each picker needs a minimum of 2 Harvest Trolleys - one to pick onto and one in transit back to the packhouse. If you are mainly picking truss tomatoes, you will also need a couple of low trolleys for general duties such as cleanup.
